Need a New Car Battery? OKC Mobile Auto Delivers On the Spot
Oklahoma City & Surrounding Areas
Recognizing When You Need a New Battery
A car battery rarely dies without warning. In most cases, there are signs weeks or even months before total failure. The most obvious one is slow cranking — when you turn the key, the engine turns over more slowly than usual, with a labored "ruh-ruh-ruh" sound instead of a crisp, fast crank. This means the battery is struggling to deliver enough current to the starter motor. In Oklahoma summer heat, this degradation happens faster because high temperatures speed up the internal chemical reactions that wear out the lead plates.
Other warning signs include dim headlights at idle that brighten when you rev the engine, the dashboard battery warning light illuminating, electrical accessories behaving erratically (power windows moving slowly, radio cutting out), or a sulfur smell coming from under the hood. That sulfur smell — like rotten eggs — indicates the battery is overheating or overcharging, and it needs immediate attention. Do not ignore it.
If your battery is more than 3 years old in Oklahoma, it is worth getting tested even if you have not noticed problems yet. Batteries in hot climates lose capacity gradually, and you may not notice until that first cold morning when the weakened battery cannot keep up. OKC Mobile Auto can test your battery at your location — if it is still good, we will tell you. If it is marginal or failing, we can replace it right then and there. Proactive replacement at home beats reactive replacement in a parking lot.
On-the-Spot Delivery and Installation
When you call OKC Mobile Auto for a battery, here is exactly what happens. First, we ask for your vehicle year, make, model, and engine type. This determines the battery group size and minimum CCA rating. We quote you a price over the phone that includes the service call and the battery — total cost, no hidden fees. If you are good with the price, we dispatch immediately.
Our service vehicle arrives at your location carrying the correct battery for your car. The technician starts with a quick diagnostic to confirm the battery is the issue and not something else (a failed alternator, corroded cables, a blown fuse, or a parasitic electrical drain can all mimic a dead battery). Assuming the battery is confirmed bad, the technician removes it, inspects and cleans the battery tray and cable terminals, installs the new battery, secures the hold-down clamp, and connects the cables with the correct torque.
After installation, we run a full starting and charging system test. This checks alternator output, voltage regulator function, and starter draw. Everything is documented and shared with you. The entire process typically takes 20 to 30 minutes from arrival. Most customers tell us the hardest part was deciding to call — they expected it to be a bigger hassle than it actually is. We serve all of Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Midwest City, Del City, Yukon, Mustang, Bethany, Warr Acres, and surrounding communities.
Battery Pricing and Warranty Coverage
Battery prices vary based on the group size, type (conventional or AGM), and brand. A standard conventional battery for a midsize sedan — like a Group 35 for a Toyota Camry — typically runs $120 to $160. Larger batteries for trucks and SUVs — like a Group 65 for a Ford F-150 — are usually $150 to $200. AGM batteries, required by many newer and European vehicles, range from $180 to $280. Our service call starts at $99 and includes everything except the battery itself: trip to your location, diagnostics, installation, terminal cleaning, anti-corrosion treatment, and old battery disposal.
Every battery we install comes with a manufacturer warranty. Most of our batteries carry a 2 to 3 year free replacement warranty — if the battery fails due to a manufacturing defect within that period, you get a brand new one at no cost. Some premium batteries offer longer warranty periods. Our installation work carries its own 90-day warranty: if any issue arises from the installation itself within 90 days, we come back and fix it free.
We believe in transparent pricing. When you call, we quote you the total — service call plus the specific battery for your vehicle. There are no surprise charges when we arrive. If our diagnostic reveals a different issue (alternator, starter, cables), we will tell you what we found and give you options. We are not going to replace a battery that does not need replacing just to make a sale. That is not how we built our reputation in Oklahoma City. Call (405) 295-0635 to get your quote.
