Is Your Battery Really
The Problem?

Before you replace your battery, let us test the whole system. A dead battery is often just the symptom — not the cause.

Comprehensive Testing

What We Test

Our health check covers the four critical components of your vehicle's starting and charging system. Each one can cause no-start conditions, and replacing the wrong part wastes your time and money.

01

Battery Load Test

We measure your battery's Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) rating and voltage under load — not just resting voltage. This tells us whether the battery can actually deliver the power your starter needs on a cold morning.

02

Alternator Output Test

We check charging voltage at idle and at higher RPM. A healthy alternator should output between 13.5V and 14.5V. A weak alternator means your battery never fully charges — and eventually dies.

03

Starter Draw Test

We measure the amperage your starter motor pulls during cranking. Excessive draw means the starter is failing — and it's draining your battery faster than the alternator can charge it.

04

Parasitic Drain Test

Something draining your battery overnight? We measure current draw with the vehicle off to find the circuit that's pulling power when it shouldn't be. Common culprits include aftermarket accessories, faulty door switches, and trunk lights.

Why It Matters

Don't Throw Money At Guesswork

A proper diagnosis saves you from replacing parts that aren't broken. Here's what our health check does for you.

$

Save Money

Don't replace a $200 battery when it's a $50 alternator belt or a $15 corroded cable connector. Knowing the real problem means you only pay to fix what's actually broken.

Get Answers

No more guessing. No more "try this and see." You'll know exactly what's wrong with your vehicle's electrical system, backed by actual test data and measurements.

Prevent Breakdowns

Catch a failing alternator or weak starter before it leaves you stranded in a parking lot. Our health check spots problems early, while they're still cheap and easy to fix.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the health check take?

A complete starting and charging system health check takes about 30 to 45 minutes. That includes testing the battery under load, checking alternator output at idle and RPM, measuring starter draw, and running a parasitic drain test if needed. We don't rush the process because accurate results matter more than speed.

Do I need to be present during the test?

Yes, we typically need you present for the health check. Several tests require starting the vehicle and running it at different RPMs. We also like to discuss the results with you in person so you can see the readings and ask questions. If you absolutely can't be there, we can sometimes work with a spare key — just let us know when you book.

What if the battery is fine but my car won't start?

That's exactly what the health check is designed to uncover. A no-start condition with a good battery usually points to a failing starter motor, a bad alternator that's not keeping the battery charged, a parasitic drain that's depleting the battery overnight, or a wiring issue. We test all of these components and give you a clear answer about what's actually causing the problem.
